From the Father's love You came,
Holy Word made flesh,
Holy God invisible manifest to us.
Jesus, how we wonder at Your holy birth
In a humble manger, King of all the earth.
As You walked the ground we tread
You poured out Your love,
Healing all who called on You, for Your heart was moved.
Lord, Your great compassion, we do not deserve;
Jesus, how You served us, so that we might serve.
How You loved us to the end,
Even unto death;
You were beaten, mocked, and slain for our sinfulness.
Jesus, in Your mercy You bore all our sin;
By Your great atonement we are cleansed within.
It is as you prophesied,
From the dead You rose,
Granting vict'ry o'er the grave, filling us with hope.
Death where is thy vict'ry, O where is thy sting?
Jesus, You have risen, and in You we live!
One day ev'ry knee shall bow,
Ev’ry tongue confess,
"Jesus, You are Lord of all; we are sinfulness."
But to all who know You, You will call by name,
And with such rejoicing, we'll receive Your grace!
